Treatment for “crypto addiction” is now available in upscale rehab facilities

  • Bitcoin addiction is similar to gambling, but the centers claim it is more addictive.
  • Rehab centers include many facilities to fight against depression
  • Don poured up to $200,000 (£164,700) weekly into cryptocurrency trades.

BBC reported that “crypto addiction” therapy is now available at high-end rehab facilities. The media platform followed Don’s story who works for a business that handles central bank digital currency (CBDC) transactions. He claims that, towards the middle of 2022, he entered a “downward spiral,” and he decided to get treatment. Don wants to remain nameless because he worries that his remarks will upset investors.

The balance rehabilitation facility on the Spanish island of Majorca, which boasts a large staff, was the answer. Don lived in a luxury villa and had a butler to serve him. The facility includes eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, depression, burnout, and anxiety therapy programs. Luxury treatment facilities are already springing up all over the place, promising to treat “crypto addiction.”

Cryptography specialists claim that it should be viewed as gambling and handled accordingly. According to Stanford University professor of psychiatry Anna Lembke, “the therapy for crypto addiction is identical to that for other addictions.” According to them, the symptoms and treatments are virtually the same whether you’re “addicted” to gambling on sports, trading cryptocurrency, or winning the lottery.

While cryptocurrency addiction parallels gambling, the centers claim it is more addictive. Due to its volatility, it is more exciting than the stock market. Unlike gambling, crypto trading has an aura of legitimacy, says Jan Geber, CEO of Zurich-based Paracelsus Recovery. “He adds that seeking help is less common because crypto trading is primarily unregulated. In contrast to gambling, cryptocurrency trading is seen as legitimate. Geber says seeking assistance is less prevalent because crypto trading is generally unregulated.

By the end of 2014, Jane had begun purchasing cryptocurrency, putting hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake in each deal. Eventually, he sought therapy from Paracelsus Recovery, which offers four to six-week crypto addiction programs for $104,000 (£85,000) weekly.
